Description

H-Teachpol is an online discussion list dedicated to the discussion of issues regarding political science teaching in post-secondary settings. It is a forum to discuss the role of political science teaching within the larger framework of liberal learning, to examine current trends in higher education (e.g., distance learning, service learning, integration of new technologies, assessment, outcome-based evaluation, and declining enrollment in political science courses), to share information about the latest teaching innovations, especially those related to technology and experiential education, and to promote exemplary teaching within the political science discipline.

H-Teachpol is edited by Joe Cammarano (Providence College) and William J. Ball (The College of New Jersey).  The list is part of H-net (the humanities and social sciences network) and it is co-sponsored by the American Political Science Association Organized Sections on Computers and Multimedia and Undergraduate Education.

Some of the material on Teaching Politics (such as the book reviews and the Guide to Teaching) originates on the H-Teachpol discussion list.  The Teaching Politics web site and the H-Teachpol discussion list are designed to compliment each other. Users of Teaching Politics are strongly encouraged to subscribe to H-Teachpol.
